Richard Meier: Ara Pacis Museum, Rome

Here is a really good video for the Ara Pacis Museum:

I can remember this museum as if it were yesterday. I was in Europe for three months from July to September 2007 and remember coming across the Ara Pacis while on a stroll along the Tiber not far from my hotel close to the Vatican. It ws a beautiful day and I was looking for the Ferrari store which is just around the corner from the museum at that time it was hosting I beleive a collection of Valentino fashions from different eras and I crossed the road and there it was. I ran across this video while reviewing an article about the new mayor of Rome who was upsetting the entertainment world by changing the venue at the Rome Film Festival. Anyway I found the museum quite charming and situated in the heart of Rome next to so many old buildings this modern structure stood out quite nicely. I recommned a vist when in Rome. The structure is stunning -- any city in the world should be grateful for it.

I like the idea of "relocating" bad architecture, but let's start with the JFK Center in DC and Lincoln Center here in Manhattan.

As to the Meier work, please, send it here to replace Lincoln Center as soon as you can -- I can't wait.
